CO2 Laser Therapy for Skin Resurfacing in Lausanne
How does the treatment work?
The fractional CO2 laser works by heating the superficial part of the skin. It crosses the epidermis through multiple micro-wells, into the deep dermis.
As the skin heals, these pores will close and lead to renewed skin resurfacing through the generation of new cells and the stimulation of new collagen under the skin. The result is an improvement in the overall quality of the skin and a restored tone.
For whom is the treatment appropriate ?
Skin resurfacing with the fractional CO2 laser represents a major innovation in the field of medical laser. It enables you to erase the various unwanted traces present on your skin: scars related to acne or surgery, burns, fine wrinkles, dilated pores or stretch marks.
Fractional laser treatment is performed at our Cosmetic Surgery Center in Lausanne, Switzerland.
What part of the body can be treated?
- Fine wrinkles on the face, neck, neckline and hands
- Acne scars
- Post-surgical scars
- Burns
- Stretch marks
- Dilated pores
What results can be expected after one session?
The improvement of superficial wrinkles and dilated pores will already be visible after only 1 to 2 sessions. It is advisable to maintain the result with a session every winter.
For scars, burns and stretch marks, 4 to 6 sessions are recommended in order to obtain an optimal result. This result is permanent.
How does the session take place?
After removing the anesthetic cream previously applied, the area to be treated will be disinfected with a hydro-alcoholic solution. The doctor will then adapt the laser according to the dermal depth required for your skin. The laser will pass one to three times on your skin. A thick healing cream will then be applied.
The laser treatment lasts approximately 20 minutes and the session takes place in our specialized clinic based in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Does it hurt?
A numbing cream is applied to the area to be treated 30 minutes before the session to provide maximum comfort during the treatment.
What happens after the treatment?
A slight swelling is noticed immediately after the session (part of the dermis is exposed).
Once the treatment is over, the skin dries out and the result starts to appear as the skin peels. For the final result, you will have to wait up to 12 weeks after your last session.
Sun protection is essential during the 4 weeks following the treatment.
Are there any contra-indications?
Healing disorders and certain medical treatments such as antibiotics or antidepressants.
Important: any medication in progress or started during the laser treatment must be reported to the practitioner.
