Vascular laser – Remove Veins and Improve Skin Clarity
The vascular laser can be used to treat the face and any body part. Many skin disorders manifest themselves as abnormal blood vessels in the skin.
How does the treatment work?
The vascular laser emits a beam at a single wavelength specific to hemoglobin. Because of its high power, the energy absorbed by the hemoglobin is sufficient to heat and destroy the surrounding blood vessel. This treatment is done without local anesthesia thanks to a cold air flow. This laser treatment aims to reduce the redness under the skin.
For whom is the treatment indicated?
Vascular laser is the treatment of choice for facial telangiectasias, rosacea and couperose as well as for ruby angiomas of the neck and face.
For spider veins on the legs, depending on their size, your doctor will advise you on the best technology during an initial consultation: vascular laser treatment or needle sclerotherapy treatment.

What part of the body can be treated?
The entire body and face can be treated.
What results can be expected after a session?
After a session, the existing vessels will become less visible or will be completely eliminated.
In case of diffuse redness, such as couperose, or in case of large vessels, the treatment will have to be repeated 1-2 times to achieve the desired result.
In the case of rosacea or vascular problems that cause distortion of the vessels, it will not be possible to prevent the appearance of new vessels. In this case, a maintenance session once a year may be necessary.
During your appointment, the doctor will explain the results you can expect depending on your case.
How does the session take place?
Once the skin has been cleaned and disinfected, your doctor will adjust the laser parameters in order to target the vessel under the skin. An immediate destruction of the vessel is observed by your doctor and confirms the effectiveness of the treatment.
The laser procedure is performed in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Does it hurt?
The pain is minimal, like a “rubber band” followed by a sensation of heat. An anesthetic cream can be applied.
What are the consequences of the treatment?
A slight redness will be present the same day of the treatment on the treated area. The small vessels will be eliminated immediately, while the larger ones will leave a small dark bruise that will disappear within a few days or a few weeks.
You can resume your activities as soon as the laser treatment is completed.
It is important not to expose yourself to the sun or to heat sources that would redilate the vessels during the 4 weeks following the treatment.
Are there any contraindications?
Tanned skin: avoid exposure to the sun during the 2 weeks before and after treatment.
