How does the treatment work?
At Maison Tóā, the center for aesthetic medicine and plastic surgery in Lausanne, we have recently equipped ourselves with the latest generation of hair removal lasers. It is a dual wavelength Alexandria and Nd Yag laser. This laser makes it possible to treat hair in 4 to 6 sessions, regardless of the area of the body to be treated and regardless of the type of skin. It is equally effective on all types of skin.
The photons emitted by the hair removal laser are absorbed by the pigment contained in the hair root, which allows the destruction of the hair and its root. However, hair can only be destroyed in its growth phase (anagen phase). It therefore takes 4 to 6 sessions for the hair that was in the resting phase (telogen) or in the regression phase (catagen) to return to the growth phase and to be eliminated in turn, which allows true permanent hair removal from the treated area.
For whom is the treatment designed ?
Regardless of your age or your sex, whether you have a big amount of hair or just 3 stubborn hairs that bother you, it is now possible to get rid of these unwanted hairs in a definitive way (80 to 90%) in just a few medical laser sessions.
Thanks to medical laser hair removal technology with contact cooling, the treatment is quick and painless and allows you to save yourself long hours of hair maintenance and enjoy lasting benefits.
Are there any contra-indications?
Although laser hair removal is a very common cosmetic procedure, pregnancy, photosensitizing drugs, skin infections and the presence of downy hair (risk of longer and darker hair) remain contraindications.
Although it is not a medical contraindication per se, it is not recommended to use this laser on individuals who are too young, especially men, who have not yet reached hormonal maturity. In fact, hormonal maturity is necessary for successful laser hair removal.
Tanning is no longer a contraindication with this laser as it is adapted to all types of skin. However, it is imperative that you announce that you have been exposed to the sun in the 4 weeks preceding the laser. A special wavelength for tanned skin is then chosen during your session. Same for the application of self-tanner.
