How is the procedure performed?
Nymphoplasty is an outpatient surgical procedure performed under general or local anesthesia (depending on the patient’s preference and the surgeon’s recommendations). It usually lasts between 45 minutes and 1 hour. There are absorbable stitches that disappear with time.
The nymphoplasty treatment is performed by a dermatologist or a surgeon at our Swiss clinic in Lausanne.
When will the results be visible?
Immediately after the surgery, there will be significant swelling that will last a few days. The result will start to be visible after 1 week to be definitive between 1 to 2 months.
Our experts in intimate surgery are at your disposal at our clinic in Lausanne to meet your needs.
What are the after-effects?
Wearing a hygienic towel is recommended in the hours following the procedure as bleeding may occur. The following of the operation is rarely painful and simple analgesics can calm the pain. The stitches dissolve over a period of two weeks. Any sexual activity is not recommended for 3 weeks.
Our surgeons recommend taking a shower with clear water and washing with a mild hypoallergenic soap. Wearing loose clothing is recommended to avoid the risk of compression.
What are the possible complications?
The most frequent complication encountered with this procedure is scar dehiscence, i.e. the stitches, which are absorbable, dissolve quicker than expected and the wound opens. This requires a surgical revision. Other complications include infections and residual asymmetry to a limited extent.
