Face lift with tensor threads
A thread lift is a non-invasive (non-surgical) treatment for sagging skin on the face and neck. Cheeks are beginning to slacken, but the mini-facelift or facelift are not yet a possibility. However, you can no longer tolerate this tired appearance. This facelift with subcutaneous threads may be a solution.
How are the threads applied?
The face lift with tensor threads is an alternative to the surgical face and neck lift. The tensor threads are indicated mainly for men and women who do not have significant sagging and/or drooping of the skin, face or neck; surgery is not yet an option. The aim is to restore tension to the sagging and/or drooping areas of the face and neck by implanting these threads under the skin.
The Silhouette Soft threads are made up of knots reinforced by cones that also hook under the skin.
The treatment is performed in our clinic, which specializes in threaded face lifts in Lausanne.
The advantages of a face lift with tension threads:
- Immediately visible lifting effect
- No incisions, only needle-sized entry holes
- Can be performed under local anesthesia
- Relatively short recovery time (4-5 days)
- Low risk of complications
- Rapid healing
- Stimulation of neo-collagen synthesis
Four areas can benefit from this face lift:
- The forehead, the brow bone
- The cheeks and jowls that have been slackened to redefine the oval of the face
- The neck
When will the results be visible?
The result is instantly noticeable, the features are lifted, the cheekbones are reshaped and the contours are redefined. The effect is immediate, once placed in the dermis, the oval of the face regains a firmness lost over the years. Because the tightening threads do not touch the muscles, there is no change in facial expressions, which remain natural and harmonious.
What medical treatment can I consider?
The placement of tensor threads is done under 30 minutes at the doctor’s office:
Performed under local anaesthetic, the procedure consists of 4 steps:
- Small, discreet incision in the scalp
Insertion of notched tensioning threads into the deep dermis according to a path defined before the procedure, in order to obtain the desired suspension - Fixation of the serrated tensor threads
- Careful sculpting of the face to obtain the final result
What are the after-effects?
The recovery is light, with very little discomfort. There may be some swelling and bruising, and the average time off work is 4 to 5 days after the notched tightening stitches are applied.
What are the possible complications with tensor sutures?
-
- Infections on implanted material (0.9% of patients): Rather rare, they are most often due to the inclusion of hair in the scalp, which are drawn in during the traction of the threads, and this despite constant vigilance during the implantation. The incriminated thread must be removed without delay so that the skin surface is affected as little as possible by this inflammation.
- Persistent pain or dysesthesia (4% of patients): this is generally the same as that which appeared during the postoperative period, but lasts abnormally. Most often localized, they are permanent or inconstant. Analgesics and mild anti-inflammatory drugs are used as a first-line treatment in these cases.
- Spontaneous extrusion of a wire or visibility of an implanted wire is also very rarely observed.
The wire placement procedure ensures total discretion for the patient. If you have any further questions, we will be happy to answer them. Contact our Lausanne-based cosmetic surgery center, and we will do our best to answer your questions and desires.
